Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training (QCF)
Qualification Details (QCF version):
The Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training comprises the following units:
Unit 1 – Anatomy and physiology for health and exercise
Unit 2 – Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme *
Unit 3 – Programming personal training with clients
Unit 4 – Delivering personal training sessions
* Unit 2 can be taken as a separate individual qualification (click here for details)
Successful completion of the full qualification will allow candidates to achieve level 3 status on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) (a requirement to perform personal training in many gyms and health clubs)
Successful candidates will gain 20 CPD point
Course content:
This course will teach you how to:
Design progressive advanced resistance and cardiovascular training programmes
Use a variety of advanced resistance training methods, systems and techniques
Perform a range of health and fitness tests
Assess how lifestyle affects physical fitness
Implement effective ways of managing stress
Devise dietary plans for pre- and post-exercise, and weight management
Evaluate the effects that different types of diet can have on the body
Develop motivational strategies for your clients
Assessment:

Portfolio of Evidence to cover a progressive programme of exercise for a client
Practical Observed Assessment

Entry Requirements and Target Candidates
Candidates must be over 16 and have a level 2 Fitness Instructor / Exercise To Music Qualification
Suitable for gym instructors wishing to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry as personal trainers
