Schools Info:
ActiFIT Education was
launched on 1 May 2008 to provide recognised qualifications for students
from year 10 upwards wishing to learn more about improved health and fitness
and perhaps making fitness instruction a potential career. These
qualifications include:
• Active IQ Level 1 Award in Active, Healthy Living (National
Database of Accredited Qualifications - Number 100/5144/2)
• Active IQ Level 2 NVQ in Instructing Exercise and Fitness (National
Database of Accredited Qualifications - Number 500/4030/3)
(For further course and funding details, go to
www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk)

As a deliverer of the Active IQ
Level 1 Award in Active,
Healthy Living, ActiFIT Education delivers this “life skills”
qualification at level 1 on the National Qualifications Framework as an
ideal introduction to both health and fitness, and compliment qualifications
such as GCSE P.E.
Students are taught by qualified instructors who link activity and better
health with an enjoyable vocational experience. Students will learn how to
analyse their lifestyle and put together a strategy to improve nutritional
habits and take up opportunities of becoming more active in their daily
life. ActiFIT Education will also ensure the following education
prerequisites are in place for all courses delivered:
• Full risk assessment completed for all on and off-site activities;
• Standard child protection policy - all employees undergo Every
Child Matters training course;
• Full public liability insurance - cover up to £2,000,000;
• Full and completed CRB checks - all employees undergo full CRB
check prior to working with school children or young adults;
• Learning support if required - covering all learning difficulties;
• An effective quality assurance system incorporating both Internal &
External Verification of learner work and teaching practice.

ActiFIT Education also delivers a
Level 2 Fitness Instructor
Qualification. Aimed at Sixth Form students, the Level 2 qualification
will enable successful participants to seek employment as a fully qualified
instructor with Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) accreditation, and
will prove an excellent learning vehicle to complement the study of A-level
P.E. or Biology. (For further information on REPS, go to
www.exerciseregister.org)
ActiFIT Education is keen to deliver their courses via the Out of
School Hours Learning Scheme, providing an appropriate number of lecture
staff and sufficient learning resources material for the benefit of all
students taking part.
A range of
short-course workshops
are also available for pupils and school staff. These can be tailored to the
requirements of the school.
